We are dedicated to develop a whole child.

Our Educational Programs

Great Pillars Academy International aims to educate children using the Montessori Method. We believe that through Montessori Pedagogy, we will be able to effectively assist each child to acquire the love for independent learning.

Our structure has choice which will enable the child to learn self-discipline, responsibility, respect for others, how to manage and prioritize his/her time, accomplish his work and conceptually masterful. These are the skills we want for our children that when they move to a more matured world, they will live with that foundation of stability.

One of the aspects that makes us different from other schools is our classrooms are mixed-age. When you visit us, you’ll see two, three, four, five-year-olds working together, rather than being separated by age. Children in a mixed-age classroom benefit one another. Younger children learn from their older peers by watching/observing how they work and complete challenging lessons which are fine examples to the younger children while older children are viewed as role models, they take pride in being able to help or guide their younger peers, and it is not uncommon to see an older child giving a younger child a lesson.

Montessori Method was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician, educator and innovator who spent her long life in dedicating to study, observe and improve the education of children and realized that every child wants to learn. She went around the world encouraging parents and educators to treat the period of childhood as an entity in itself and not merely a preparation for adulthood.

Great Pillars Academy International

The 5 Areas of Montessori

Practical Life - In this area, the child will learn practical things that he/she sees commonly around him/her. The materials we have in this area will help the child do things by himself/herself without the help of an adult. Thus, the child will benefit a natural development of self-esteem and self confidence. This will support him to become independent become responsible member of the society.

Sensorial - Activities in this area help the child become aware of and learn his/her senses: Sight, Touch, Smell, Taste, Hearing and Stereognostic. The activities in this area include the manipulation of materials that differentiate qualities. The purpose is to refine motor skills, visual and hearing senses and develop coordination and the ability to order and classify.

Language - We have a variety of materials to teach and reinforce vocabulary, sounds, writing and reading (drawing and color exploration for young learners.)Through observation, we are able to follow the child and learn how to support his/her needs in developing his/her language skills.

Math - Using the Montessori Math materials, we can introduce the concepts and reinforce the quantities and numerals in a concrete way which are easy for the child to understand.

Cultural and Science - We have world map and globes designed by Dr. Maria Montessori to introduce land and water, and the 7 continents. We have the complete puzzle maps that will help the child increase his/her knowledge and awareness of different cultures and why people around the world speak different languages and dont look the same.

The 5 Areas of Montessori

By eating family-style and serving themselves, children learn about making healthy choices and the connection between food and community.
